Natilon RAW is for teams who treat a time-lapse archive as a collection of negatives rather than a finished video. Frames are kept uncompressed, as they came off the sensor, so the processing decisions can be made later — years later, if that is when they are needed.
What RAW actually means
A JPEG is a file of decisions: the camera applies white balance, contrast and sharpening at capture and discards the rest. RAW keeps what the sensor saw. The difference shows on a difficult frame — a blown sky, a facade lost in shadow — where RAW still holds recoverable information.
In a time-lapse that compounds: the same scene is captured thousands of times under changing light. Balancing across a day, and across seasons, is only possible while the data is still unprocessed.
50.6 megapixels
Natilon RAW uses the same sensor as Natilon Cinematic: every frame is 8,688 × 5,792 pixels. That is 2.3 times wider than a 4K video frame, which leaves room to crop, pan and push in the edit, and carries the same frames into large-format print.
The difference between the two products is not the sensor but the delivery: Cinematic aims at the finished video, RAW at the unprocessed archive itself.
The archive outlives the project
Those frames are asked for long after a build finishes: for an exhibition, a corporate report, a dispute. A JPEG archive is locked to the decisions made on the day it was shot; a RAW archive can be re-read against whatever is needed now.
Frames are held in the Natilon cloud. RAW files are many times larger than JPEG, which makes the storage plan as much a part of the conversation as the hardware.
